Join the AINM

The American Institute of Naturopathic Medicine has three levels of Membership.  Please review the options and download the application by clicking on the appropriate level number.

Level I: Doctoral Registry

Applicants for membership in the American Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and candidates for doctoral registry must have completed the following minimum academic and professional requirements:

1. Completion of a two year course of undergraduate study with a pre med emphasis and including a total of 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits of academic study.
2. Completion of a four or five year residential program of academic study at an approved naturopathic college or university, including a one year clinical internship.
3. Completion of a four or five year residential program in allopathic, osteopathic, chiropractic, or naprapathic medicine, from an approved college or university, with additional academic studies in naturopathic medicine.

Applicants for membership who have completed the undergraduate requirements (a) listed above and who are currently enrolled in an AINM approved residential program of naturopathic medicine can apply for acceptance in the AINM as student members and doctoral registry candidates while actively completing the professional requirements listed above.

Level II: Professional Registry

Applicants for membership in the American Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and candidates for professional registry (non doctoral consultants) must have completed the following minimum academic and professional requirements:

A diploma or certification program in a state licensed college, university, or post secondary school recognized by the AINM and with a diploma or certification in any of the following areas:

• Naturopathic consultant
• Holistic Health Care Consultant
• Holistic Health Care Practitioner
• Herbal Medicine
• Clinical Nutrition

Level III: Associate Membership
(please call us for optional student insurance rates)

The American Institute of Naturopathic Medicine also welcomes student members who are beginning their journey in naturopathic medicine.

Applicants applying for new student membership must be enrolled in a diploma or certification program in a state licensed college, university, or post secondary school recognized by the AINM in any of the following areas:

• Naturopathic consultant
• Holistic Health Care Consultant
• Holistic Health Care Practitioner
• Herbal Medicine
• Clinical Nutrition
• Allopathic Medicine
• Osteopathic Medicine
• Chiropractic Medicine
• Naprapathic Medicine
• Undergraduate program with a pre med emphasis
